I need help finding a "Don't Pass Don't Pay smog Center." I purchased my 90 5.0 back in June. the guy I got it from smogged it the same day i got it but it didn't pass (emissions). I changed the back exhaust not the front. I took off the cherry bombs that where on there and put flowmasters on. Alot of dirt started falling out of the cherry bomb pipes. Do you think the cherry bomb pipes could have stop it from passing smog?

yes it has the 4 catted h-pipe. I also have another 4 catted h-pipe that came off a 86 gt. Do you think i should pay fot it to get put on or just try to see if it will pass. The guy at the smog shop said that i need 2 cats but some1 told me that it could have been the old pipes that i took off. Help please

put the other catted h-pipe on and get it up to operating temp. then take to a smog shop and let it run till they test it. there are no pass or don't pay shops in vallejo that i know of

You sould post your test results. That would help to diagnose where your problem really is. All of the smog people that I have dealt wiht don't know shit when it comes to telling your what is wrong. When mine failed they said change all four cats AND my EGR. I changed my EGR (but not cats) and it passed.

I would check your EGR valve and make sure it is working properly. If you need to replace something this will be cheaper than a set of cats.

Its not that hard to swap out your H-pipe you could do it yourself in about an 1 hour if its your first time. All you have to do is unblot the mufflers, unscrew and disconnect the o2 sensors, unbolt the H-pipe from the headers and your done.
