In a month or so I'm planning on installing a wet nitrous kit in my car, 1990 5.0. I just want some opinions on the two different kits offered by these companies, pro cons etc. I'm not looking for more than a 100 shot, I'll probably play it safe around 50 or 75. Also if there are any good places to buy from which have good deals on kits and components.
Thanks

zex kits dont make the rated power for the jet setting.
nx kits do, if they dont exceed.

NX my bro just picked one up after doing some research and it seams to be better all the way around

I'll go against the grain and vote ZEX. It make double the power at the rear on my Cobra.

Zex. It will be MUCH safer as it regulates fuel pressure based on bottle pressure. IF you were serious about racing and will get all the necessary parts to have a reliable and safe system, the NX will make more power. But if you get the NX kit and don't add a bottle heater, purge kit, window switch and fuel pressure safety switch- be ready to have an occasional "event"- ie a backfire.

zex is so much safer because it doesnt even make close to the claimed ratings
john you dont count, using it to cool boost and add power is cheating, put one of my nx kits on the 393 and then lets talk
a little 50 shot could make those tires cry for an entire run

Watch the video...a 35 shot did it.

Zex will make all the power a street car needs, plus it will be safer and much easier to install.
I have had NX, Zex, Compucar and NOS.
Zex has been the most impressive to me becuase how easy it is to install and how safe it is.
I hit my rev limiter in my 99 GT(ZEX) and have frogot to turn off my Trac Control and never backfired.
I hit the revlimiter once in my 88GT with my NX kit and Boom.
Take it from someone who has been using N20 for a while now, and done it with many difernet kits.
ZEX for power up to 175hp
NX for power above that.

i sprayed a dry kit on a stock 'vert and 100 shot improved it from 15.10-13.60
so i have to disagree...i never used a nx kit...just zex and NOS
but i have heard good stuff about nx...but like everything else....people praise what they have, and most often never used any other

The problem i have with zex is that they dont sell a window or fuel pressure saftey switch for their wet system. But NX makes their own switchs for their kits. Would it be much more difficult to wire in a aftermarket window switch and fpss to the zex? Or would it be safer and easier to just buy the NX kit and buy their window and wot and fpss?
Also cant you fix the under rated hp issue with zex by using a different jet?
what do you guys think?
thanks

I ran a zex kit on my car and I Havent had any problems with it at all. It is nice and easy to put in and to use. And it is a pretty safe kit as well.

All the safety is in the box for ZEX, including fuel cut off.

nx but i am a little biased

The zex is a good kit. I have actually owned both. Zex on my old ricer
and nx wet kit on my stang like 2 years ago.
I did have issues with the nx and plastic intake, went boom. But with all the proper safety stuff, i personally like the nx kit and it makes great power!

use an msd window switch..the new ones act as a tps wot switch as well (so i'm told)
so really no reason NOT to...since you should be running an msd anyways...w/ the spray.
