I'm planning on picking up an eibach coilover setup for my '87 Coupe...I'm planning on doin all new tires this week also. So getting to the point, I have Stock 16x7 ponies with 225/50/16(F) & 245/50/16 in rear..Do you guys think a tire setup like 215/45/16(F) & 245/45/16(R) would be a good setup?? I have a feeling if I don't go any smaller in the front I'll be rubbing on the fender A LOT...Thanks Jayson

I run 245/50R16s all around on ponies with FMS 'b' coils, bilstein stuts/shocks, and MM c/c plates
no rubbing unless its full lock turn going up a driveway, and the car is low enough to scrape on most stupid speedbumps

oh and 215's are way too freaking skinny for ponies, the lip on the rim would really stick out

thanks for the opinions guys...you think 45 series tire would be a nice sidewall for the car

FOR THE PONIES I WOULD STICK WITH THE 50 SERIES

When I had my 88 Gt I had Eibach sportlines and I cut another coil off. It sat low. I had chrome ponies and 245/45/r16 and they NEVER rubbed. www.californiafords.com/cgi-bin/album.pl?photo=00003233/Ford_mustang._Jpeg.jpg
