I was thinking about throwing a zex kit on my '87 fox 180,000 miles non-mass air. Is it a bad idea?

It depends on what condition your motor is in and how big a shot you are going to run.

Nitrous is a nice way to get cheap power. If the bottom end goes out then you can get a nice Ford Remanufactured engine with 1 year warranty pretty cheap or go built. Besides, at only $3 per lb for Nitrous Refills you'll have lots of fun! Who would have thought gas would be more expensive than Nitrous!
