for the life of me i cant figure out why my car wont go any faster than a 14.55 @ 97. before i added my cobra intake 70mm throttle body and 1.7 rockers its quikest pass was a 14.65 @ 94. on top of those mods ive got a CAI, 75mm MAF, shorties, underdrive pullies, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and flows with 3.27 gears. can anyone help me out with this please

changed your gears and get some drag radials

my best time at the track was a 13.0 flat at 103mph and i have 4.10s equal lengh hooker headers and off road h-pipe and a 75 shot on m/t streets. try some better gears.

this is my daily driver that i drive about 80 miles a day in so i'm kinda hesitant to put 373s in it

my brother has 373s and there pretty much the same cuz he had 327 before and they feel alittle different but has a better pull and thats hes daily driver.

I concur,...I ran a 13.9 @ 100 mph then added a 125 shot and an alum. driveshaft and ran a 14.0 @ 106 mph. [burnout] all day

im not sure but im pretty dam consistent and it ran the 14.55 in 91 degree heat with 49% humidity. and i know its naturally gonna be alittle slower since its an automatic but still it should be runnin 14.20s

When I still had my 86 GT. It ran 13.8 @ 105mph. Mods were LT headers, o/r H pipe, MAC catback, CAI, 70mm TB, stock size MAF, underdrive pulleys, and 3.73s on a BFG Radial T/A.

I went from 3.27's in my old 94 to 3.73's... sure the gas milage suffered a little (couldnt keep my foot out of it) but when I didnt beat on it, the milage was fine. its a good jump

what were the 60' times before and after?

Posted by v-town50 (Member # 4920) on :

they stayed right at 2.28 before and after the mods

i put some 3.73s and got 3000rpms at 90mph (87mph)ish maybe. on some 17inch rims 245-45-17 not too bad. i would put gears. i had the same problem running 14.002 @ 102.5 i know that speed should be better. id try tires and gears.

Damn...you are trying to run a 14.20 with all that? My silver (very pimpy then...RIP) '91 GT with a set of 3.73s, cold air intake, under drives, and HANDLING suspension, ran a 14.20 at 99 mph.

you should pick up a lot more than 1/10th with a 3 mph gain, also put some slicks or DRs on that thing, I picked up 3/10ths with slicks.

If you don't want to go with 373's then consider 355's. I drive mine on the freeway all day long with 355's. It will run at 2500 RPM @ 75MPH. This is totally streetable and much better than 327's
