I was told that a b-cam motor can pass smog. my uncle who owns a tire shop knows a guy who can let some stuff pass like on visual (and the lopy cam [Razz] ) but would it pass the sniffer? the engine is freshly rebuilt, not 120 miles on it, all the smog stuff is hooked up, no exhaust leaks except for one of the mufflers which is rotted out, we'll just put the sniffer in the other tailpipe [Razz] what should i do to ensure it will pass?

what about my Tbird? I have the mustang exhaust on it, would I have to take it all off and revert to the stock cast-iron manifolds, y-pipe (with 3 cats) etc. in order to smog it? cuz I have to sell it but I don't know about reinstalling all that shit [Razz] would it fail visual just cuz it doesnt have the 3 cats on it (has 4 instead)? the smog pump and stuff is still all there, and it would likely pass the sniffer im just worried about visual

lol well its a little too lopey to deny that it has a cam in it. one thing I've noticed is that, normally the idle is about 1k, but when i come to a stop it will hang at about 13-1500 for a couple seconds, then drop down to regular idle where it's lopey, then kinda go back up, and keep doing that. is that the IAC messin up?

You will be fine. I passed with an e cam in my car. If they do find out that you have a cam, make sure that you have a CARB number for it or they won't smog your car.

well the idle problem was the upper intake was cracked, got that fixed. got it smogged today and it passed but just barely

15mph HC: max=121 avg=31 meas=119
CO: max=.76 avg=.10 meas=.00
NO: max=807 avg=237 meas=318

25mph HC: max=96 avg=20 meas=91
