i have a 5.0 gt, weight of the car is more than stock b/c of the roll bar, sub-frame etc. i have all the bolt on's, just bought a aluminum radiator and was planning on droping a cam and putting some gt-40 heads. what kinds of power and track numbers and would it be better to just go with a 306,331 or 347? thanks gearing in the rear is 3.73

High 13's with the mods you plan on doing and the weight you currently sit with.

With those mods, gt 40s and a cam you could squeek out a high 12 or low 13. My old GT went 13.3 with just bolt ons and an intake on old drag radials.

Of course a stroker would be better, but what exactly do you want to accomplish. Also, if you're going to get a stroker, you'd definately want to upgrade heads.

It all depends on how much money you have [Smile]

If you have the money and your engine is worn then I would go with a 347 stroker and a good set of aluminum heads (eg TFS, AFR, etc) and a mild cam.

and how much you plan on driving it too. My 331 is now a dust collector but yours doesn't have to be if you keep it smogable.
