My Jeep is running really rich, so rich that after driving it around for a bit and then shutting it off it won't start back up for atleast an hour afterwards. What could be causing this?
The Jeep has a 92 5.0L

Pull codes from the computer. I could be your MAF. It kinda sounds like it is in "limp home" mode.

You could also have bad O2's but I doubt the thing would run that rich.

From what you're describing, you've got a bad fuel injector (sticking open). It's pooling fuel on shutdown, flooding the cylinder. Pull the plugs, see what's up.

I have also seen fuel pressure regulators cause this problem. When they stick you can be pumping to much fuel in everyhole not just one. It doesn't sound like one injector sticking to me. the car would still fire just have a dead hole until it cleared out the excessive fuel.

That sucks [Frown] If its the injectors i'll just upgrade to the 24s sitting in the garage with a bigger MAF and maybe throttle body.

If its the regulator thats fine too i guess. I don't wanna do the work though haha. I thought i just got this damn thing running good but i've noticed its trouble starting after running for a while and now sometimes it won't even start [Mad]

I broke the engine mount on it pulling the old 600lb car lift out behind the garage, the thing dug in and jerked the entire car [Frown] Its ok though stupid mount bolt always breaks i need to modify the engine mounts so that they don't break bolts anymore. So i will fix that first and then check the plugs.

thanks guys.

OK if the TFI Module goes bad would the car just turn over? My Jeep is stuck down in downtown GV right now [Mad] All it does is turn over and floods the engine. [Roll Eyes] Sounds like its not getting ignition at all. It has a MSD ignition on it.
