-Compression will be around 10.5
-Eagle 4340 Crank 3.25" stroke
-Eagle 4340 H Beam Rod 5.5"
-JE/SRP Forged Flat Top Pistons
-Edelbrock RPM Heads 2.02- Stage 3 porting from TEA
-Holley System II Intake
-1.6 FMS pedestal mount
-75MM BBK Throttle Body w/spacer
-Accel 30 lbs injectors
-C&L matching MAF
-Exhaust consist of FMS ceramic shorty headers and 2 1/2 BBK Xpipe with high flow cats
-All smog equipment hooked up, may also hook-up stock h-pipe for insurance

I wanted to get a custom cam, but I talked with a well known cam designer and he came up with a cam on the bases that I wanted power from idle to 6000, "street manners", and pass smog, but it seems to small for my setup [Confused]

270/273 adv, 215/224 at .050, 133/141 at .200", .333/.316 lobe (.533/.506 with 1.6:1)

what you guys think custom or the xe274hr?

Do you want the car to pass smog out the pipes w/ the cam? XE274 prolly will not pass, pretty good overlap.

I think the TFS Stage 2 cam is pretty much the same grind as the XE274, but its cheaper.

my XE274 passed the snifer test. It was on the high side but it made it.

the operating range for the 274 cam is 2200-6200 rpms. that sounds like a pretty stout motor, if you want it to run off idle and pass smog you're going to have give up some of the cam. i basically run the same motor with a ex282 cam in a 65 coupe smog exempt

Yeah I want to pass smog out the pipes. What cam would you guys recommend that won't rob as much, but still pass smog?

What kind of cats? Single or duals? Old or new?
Also- what compression?

it passed with my Factory daul cats in place. Thay have around 120,000 on them (but used very little the last 4 years LOL) My 331 is running flat top pistons with around 64 cc heads. I believe that puts me around 10 to 1. I don't have to smog on a Dyno up here yet but it was a legit smog inspection. It was on the high side but I think with new cats it would have passed even easier.
