I don't think you can go wrong with the Steeda Tri-Ax. I had it in my 98 Cobra and loved it.

it kinda seems that all the shifter out there are good, i have the b+m ripper shifter and i love it. it has a nice blue bottom piece and the actual shifter is only one piece.

I've had both the Hurst and the Pro 5.0. Both are good shifters. I have heard good things about the Tri-ax and the B&M as well.

I've had a tri-ax on my GT and now have the MGW w/ blue handle on my Cobra and i like the MGW shifter much more as the throws seems much shorter and precise.
I've also drivin cars w/ a B&M but not a Pro 5.0 so i'm not too sure on that brand but if you do go with the MGW you may want the "red" handle as it's a little easier on daily driving but i have long arms so it's fine for me.
The quality of the machine work seems top notch on the MGW.
Anyone you choose will probably be better than stock

I may have to try one of those MGW shifters next time, I have heard good things about them.

Just bought a Tri Ax from Sacramento Mustang today and installed it in less than an hour and I love it. 1000 times better than the stock shifter imo
