HEy guys what is the stock compression on a 88 GT 5.0

Is 10:13:1 too high to run pump gas?

What makes the compression? Is it the pistions or is it...?

The piston dome/dish,the combustion chamber on the heads, and the Cubic inches all effect the compression ratio. I think stock is 8.5-9:1,but its been so long I can't remember. You could run all the way up to about 11:1 on pump gas if your tuned correctly.

You should be able to get away with 11:1 especially if you have aluminum heads and a good tune.

Will the increase in compression give me a good HP boost?

you have to figure out your dynamic compression to really see what you can run.
