i have a stock 87 gt and i cant afford a blower whats the SAFEST way to run NOS should it be wet or dry how big of a shot should i get a purge...ect. This is my daily driver so i need it to be reliable and not blow something.

First,
Learn the difference between NOS and N2O.
2nd- Wet kit, 100 shot w/ rpm window switch and fuel pressure switch. recommend Nitrous Express.

I recomend a zex kit, easy to hook up,and safe. Window switch is a plus, for safety of the motor. A dry kit would also be safer than wet,but not as much punch and power capabilty for future upgrading.Either kit wet/dry, I think Zex is safer,NX will give you more power per hp shot though. The only kit I've ever heard anything bad about was the Nitrous Works kits. You should really consider converting to mass air.

I WOULD CONVERT TO MASS AIR BEFORE DOING ANYOTHER MODS ITAS JUST ALOT BETTER TO GET MOD HAPPY LATER ON.....

Zex is an easy install, don't have dyno #'s but have heard NX is more HP at the rear wheels.
A new Zex kit was in the Ford sale section for $550 kit, remote bottle opener, and gauge.

Dry kit. Nx of tnt for hard hitting kits.
Zex for safety.
DRY DRY DRY!!!

asking whether or not to go dry is gona start a big beef w/ everyone lol....
i like dry kits myself, and they are an easier install.
all you NEED is the kit itself.
nice to have the following and i would go in this order...
1. msd box
2. bottle heater
3. window switch
4. purge
depending on if you have a 5-speed or auto, the window switch is less imp.
nice on a 5-speed cuz if you miss third, you don't pop. really not necessary on a auto..cuz when you lift at the end...you stop spraying anyway.
the purge is not really necessary, (very cool for show) and i recommend NOT using it when street racing, or racing on radials. you can get just a little more r's b4 the brunt of the hit, and it's a little softer too.
if you purge then hit it right away...your getting the full shot, NOT purging is like using a ghetto progressive system , so you can get moving a little more and not have a traction problem.
the basic kits are safe enuff, wot switch, the fp safety switch is standard on the NOS kits, not sure about the others, i have a zex now, and it doesn't have one, but mine was used.

...or a good discussion which is what tech is for.
I will go on and start it up. Wet kits are nice and all, but most if not all fuel injected manifolds are meant to flow air and not fuel. Wet kits create puddling in the manifold which creates nitrous backfires which is...to say the least... not good.

Then get a plate setup or go direct port.
If you are going to do it might as well do it right.

Direct port is damn near at minimum $1,000.

You need it warmer so that you can get the pressure up to 950 psi or else it wont hit hard

ya definetly not the cheapest way to go but probably the safest. i got my sportsman fogger with manifold, demon carb, two fuel systems, and all the gauges and goodies all with just dyno time for $1000 i added evrything up from jegs and it came out to like $2500
