I went to yahoo yellow pages, put in half moon bay, ca as location, then typed "smog" into the search box and his place came up, the shell station isn't even listed.

you should call to ask, I had trouble getting a pre-test done at the shell station before I had my car reg'd to my name because he said he couldn't test anything without a HMB zip-code because he didn't have rollers, but he's just an asshole so I dunno

just so you know if your car is registered in a place that requires an enhanced(dyno) smog, like san leandro, you cant just take it to some place that only does the old Idle/2500RPM smog. The machine wont even let the tech do it when he puts your info in, you have to get an enhanced smog if the car is registered in an enhanced area.

Has anyone ever tried just getting a PO Box in a county that only requires smog checks during change of ownership?

I have all my cars registered to a PO box in Mount Shasta where my mom lives. No smog for me exept on transfer.
