i opened my hood for a friend today and we heard something coming from under the valve cover, nothing major just a small knocking noise. car runs great just curious on what it is and why it's doing it.

are they stock rockers or aftermarket adjustable ones? If they are stock, probably low oil pressure. If they are adjustable, they are probably OUT of adjustment

yes they are stock.you think if i add some oil the noise should go away.

Listen down by the Hedders, could be an exhaust leak.

Pull the valve cover after you have warmed up vehicle and shut it off. Open your chiltons or mitchell maunal and check the clearences of the lifter to valve and compare them to the specs in the book. also check to see if there are any wear marks on the top of the valve cover and the rocker itself.

Another quick check is the see how much you can wiggle the rocker back and forth. If it goes more than about 1/4" to 3/8" then your rockers might just need to be tigthed and adjusted.

JUst a few things that may help you out there man.
