Okay, so I have an 86 Mustang GT. Engine mods include E7 heads, 70mm TB & spacer, CAI, MAF conversion, underdrive pullies, and LT headers. Also have SMOG delete, A/C delete, and P/S delete. My question is, what's the largest Ford Racing cam that I can use with this combination, I'm curious because 86 pistons are flat top with no valve reliefs. How much horsepower should I expect at the rear wheels?
I would like to get an 8-9 psi Vortech supercharger, will this be okay on my engine? How much horsepower should I expect at the rear wheels with this added?
If anyone knows of any websites that show what heads/cam/intake,etc.. will work on an 86 short block without installing new pistons or making modifications to the pistons (flycutting) I would appreciate it if you could post the link.
Also, I heard that Summit or Jegs has a tool that you can flycut your pistons, can someone tell me a part number in case I do have to go that route?
I know someone will probably say use a clay bar to check the piston to valve clearance, but in order to do that I would have to spend $200 on the cam and it possibly might not work, then I'm out $200 and have a cam I can't use.
Anyways, all help appreciated. Thanks.

I would flycut the pistons anyway, since it will allow you to run ant cam you want. I think the better of the ford cams is the f cam. I dont have a part number for the flycutting tool, but just search summit for an iskenderian fly cutting tool, it aint that hard to do.

flycut the pistons... there is a machine shop here in sac that can do it without taking them out of the block.... 250.00 is what he charges
