Ok, this test was a smog test 1, non roller test since I'm in HMB. Done as a pre-test at san carlos test only center.
Test results:
idle - 786rpm
%CO2 11.2
%O2 0.8
HC (PPM) - max 120, measured 1162
CO (%) - max 1.0, measured 5.27
2500rpm - 2606rpm
%CO2 - 14.3
%O2 - 0.5
HC (PPM) - max 140, measured 95
CO (%) - max 1.0, measured 1.05
timing was at 10* BTDC, verified. EGR functional, verified. 91 octane gas, car was definately up to temp.
as a side note, I am getting 25mpg crusing with the car, engine is completely stock, stock airbox, stock injectors, stock fpr, stock 4 cat h-pipe, stock headers, etc etc. The 25mpg is evidenced by the really low HC reading at 2500rpm...why is the idle reading so out of range and what causes CO% to be that high?

And I thought that my HC's being at 172 was bad. Check my thread below, got some pretty good info from there.

your CO is being drug up by the massive HC your seeing.. I would check the plug wires, and also the AIR system

also run 87 octane gas - preferably the crap with alcohol in it. The 91 octane has "more resistance to detonation" and I've seen it raise HC at idle. Looks like the car is rich as opposed to a misfire - as there isn't much O2 in the exhaust.
How old are your O2 sensors?
