Try changing the sender first, those things always fucc up. You can get them at a local auto parts store for approx $20

BTW, do you hear any knocking at high R's or on a cold starts????

No Knocking on start up. But when It happned i heard knocking and that is whats scares me if it was just a sending unit it would have not been knocking Im guessing i screwed something up when I got on it.

I had a similar problem on my '66. It turned out the oil pump needed to be replaced. As it warmed up, the tolerances got all out of whack, and it wouldn't pump any oil.

how do you know if the oil pump needs to be replaced??? My car does the same thing. When I start the car all the gauges shoot up and work except the oil pressure gauge. Also the oil temp gauge is really high, even from the start. After driving my car for a while it stays kinda high still, like 2 needles away from the red. Theres also a small little knockin noise that you guys are talking about too...What can that be from???

If it has the stock 5.0 pump it may be going out. They fail pretty easy since the stocker is made of aluminum. Just my .02
