I think you might wanna go with a 331 for a daily driver but otherwise if you want a 347 go with CHP's kit it fixes the "problems" associated with SOME 347s.

93lx342's 347 lasted 60k+ miles until he cracked the block from too much power.

wtf
a 331 is a stroker with a .30 over bore just like a 347 stroker uses a .30 over bore
the block is the same regardless, one just has a shorter stroke and a longer rod

ANY engine combo will last, as long as these apply...
1. Quality parts are used.
2. Realistic expectations of the end product.
3. The buildup suits the intended application.
And lastly,
Built by someone who knows what they are doing.

In all reality, what do you want out of the car? Something that is reliable, runs great, passes smog, etc....a true racecar...or something in between?
Next, do you want a local shop to do the machining, so that checks could be done on it along the way....or do you wanna make one phone call and have it here by the weekend?
Last, do have ALOT, some..or none to spend on the buildup? What are your existing parts that can be put forth on the new combo...or do you wanna start with a clean sheet of paper?
And yes, I build engines.

I agree, it can easily last as long or longer than a stock engine..

i had a car that came from 5.0 mag it was owned by the editor.i think his name was miles.it got the crap beat out of it.they tested hella parts with it.it was the first smog legal 347 in the state of california. i actually have the car now but has a 351 now.it has almost 50k when i got it and i ran it till it had 60 k on it and split the block cause i got to happy and started beatin the crap out of it with out a tune.

My 347 passes smog no problems and shows no signs of wear after 10k daily driven miles. I beat the piss out of it daily too. Dave's engine in Newark did my shortblock blueprinting. He is awesome.
