Im putting new Head gaskets on and when I lay the gasket on the holes that go over the water ports on the block the gaskets holes are smaller then the actual port on the block. Is this normal? Or should I razor blade the gasket to match the the block ports. The gaskets im using are Fel Pro and match up perfectly except the small water holes.

Also Should I put RTV sealent on the block when laying down the gasket.

Thanks for any help here and sorry if this is confusing. [patriot]

install the gaskets DRY. no RTV. make sure you scrape off ALL of the old gasket and the surface is clean and dry. it is normal for the holes on the gasket to be smaller.
