It's a very straight forward question. What is the maximum wheel offset a 99+ Mustang GT can fit. I realize stock wheel offset is about 20ish, but what is the MAXIMUM offset of a wheel a 99+ GT model fit. I seemed to have asked this alot but absolutely no one has given me a straight forward numeric answer. Thanks..

Offset? Can't tell you a number, but I can tell you a way to figure it out. Cut a 25" circle out of wood that is like a wheel/tire combo. Jack up the rear and put stands on the diffy. remove wheel bolt up the wood, and bust out the tape. You can figure out maximum back spacing and maximum wheel width. Just remember your rear-ends "floats" in the corners. Unless you have a panhard bar you shouldn't be nearing the max anyway.

I think offset is relative. What you're looking for is backspacing.

Offset is dependant on wheel width. It is how far the mounting point is offset from the center of the wheel.
The 10.5" wheels I have are 27mm offset which makes them about 6 1/2" backspacing. They fit on a 94-98 with a slight bit of hammering. 99-2004 have 3/4" longer axles, so the should be able to fit a 7 1/4" backspace wheel.

My first post was mostly about the rear. For the front, you probably won't want more than a 6" backspacing which is about 24-26mm offset on a 17x9" wheel.
