well last night i got on the throttle in second on a pretty rough road. the road didnt look too bad because it was at night. so, the combination of hard acceleration, potholes, my stiff suspension, etc. caused the belt to somehow snap and get all wrapped up around my fan. i noticed the lack of power steering immediately and started to limp it back home when i checked my water temp and saw it climb quickly to 240 from 180, so i pulled over and shut it off. the cap on the coolant reservoir had come off and coolant was spilling. i could hear the coolant boiling inside the throttle body and manifold because of the lack of pressure. luckily i was near a friends house so he helped me push it over there.
i have yet to get over there to fully check it out in the light. before i do, anything i should look for? last night it looked like just the belt needs to be replaced and the coolant filled. also, any pointers or tips on how to go about replacing it? ive never replaced the belt before. the cap for the reservoir should just go back on right, any trick to it? i also have an s trim, should i replace the belt as well? it looked to be fine last night. thanks for any and all help.
