I failed on two things

1.FAIL ignition timing: 99atdc

2.FAIL mil/check engine light

I have a question what is the stock timing # on stock 5.0L GT mustang (foxbody)what does 99atdc mean?

ever since winter started my check engine light pops up on my dash after I warm up the car what can this mean?

stock timing is 10BTDC

I'm sure the 99 is a typo for 9, can't be that far off, lol.

you need a code scanner to check your computer for engine codes as to what the check engine light is, you will never pass smog until you fix whatever is causing that check engine light to come up.

doesnt look like the shop knew how to check timing.

yeah the shop sounds like they had no clue how to check timing because even 9* should pass.

It should be at 10* with the spout out.

If the check engine light is popping on after.

Check the egr even try replacing it with one that is known to work.
