I decided to do a little adjusting on my clutch cable today - it's a Steeda Firewall Adjuster setup but the cable was clearly a bit stretched as the firewall portion was nearly out of it's seat to hold decent tension. I got under the car only to discover that 7 of the 9 "little cables" that form the clutch cable were frayed and snapped. Fun. Who makes the best clutch cable that will work with my Steeda Adjuster? I keep hearing that all the 'imported' cables are much thinner then some of the others out there.

Suggestions will be highly valued.

Oh, this is with a FMS King Cobra clutch (still going strong after 50,000 miles at 430/460 at the wheels) so the static pressure is higher then stock.

ford OEM.

the best place to get one would be a junkyard as they dont make them anymore, but if you want to buy one brand new maximum motorsports sells some cables that are very close in quality to original ones.

Find your local ford motorsport dealer.... Ford offers one that last a long while.....

The OEM cable is the best, I used to snapp cables alot until i welded in a clutch stopper. Its a bar welded to the clutch peddel that will hit the floorboard. It prevents you from streching your cable.

Interesting idea with the clutch stop - I'll have to look into that.

It works great, and you can shift twice as fast if you have the engagement point set at the top. I have mine set so i only have to push my clutch down 2inches to shift.

Damn! I have a Steeda clutch cable, firewall adj., and quadrant sitting in my garage waiting to go on my 'notch. [Mad]
