checked headlights are off, dome light off. I turned the ignition back and forth a few times to no luck. Only does it when I am getting out of my car like you left the keys in the ignition or headlights on.

When I set my alarm and come back to my car after turning off my alarm its fine. [Confused]

maybe your ignition switch is starting to crap out on you? every once in a 100 tries I can start my car w/o a key in the ignition.

Thats what I was thinking. My old key could slip out of the ignition. A locksmith said my tumblers were getting worn.

you know, a friend of mine has a 97 P71 Crown Vic that does that. if you open the door it dings as if the headlights were on or key was in the ignition. Definately a strange problem, I thought it was the ignition cyl too but wiggling it doesnt change it.
