My car knocks when ever I het a bump on the road. It sounds like it's coming from the steering rack, or in that area. Has anyone had this problem before?

Do you have a driveshaft loop?

My 88 did that and I coul'nt figure it out till I put it on a rack and could see that the bolts on the loop were hitting the driveshaft on certain turns, suspension positions.

Don't know if this will help, justa a shot.

Nope no drive shaft loop, but that's on my project list. I'm wondering if it's the bushings.

Do you feel play in the steering wheels when you hit the bumps, or just driving around even?

I just had the same problem. It was the sway bar bushing, the one at the frame.

Are u sure the sound is coming from there,,cause if u have an aftermarket catback,,it may be hitting with the swaybar,,thats what happened with my Magnaflow catback.

I have a Bassani hi-flow cat x-pipe. Haven't checked to see if it's hitting the sway bar. Thanks for all the advise.
