what brands are there for a 4.6?? just patriots right?? would they bolt on to a 97GT? or are they only for a 99-up GT?? might get some..LMK

All are ported stock pieces. Unless someone knows of a new mfr.

I do know AFR is working on 'em.

You are right Jim Patriots are just ported stockers, and AFR is working on a Modular Head. I don't know the answer to the year question, you would have to ask a well informed Modular guy.

Good question. I think you need to ask if anyone has tried them. The magazine articles that test them show pretty good power numbers. But I don't trust everything I read unless I wrote it.

I know Shaun put together a Nice little setup with the Patriot heads at HCI motorsports, He should be getting back from his Hunny moon pretty soon to answer some questions.

I'll get this one. Last year at SEMA we talked with AFR and Trickflow, I quote, "they are not going to persue the 4.6 2 valve motor. They have things in development stages for the 3 valve, but nothing with the 2 valve."

I talked to the guys at afr yesterday at SEMA, and they said that they are going to have an aftermarket head for the 4.6 in the next year.

Patriot heads are not just ported stock heads. The have upgraded valves 1.84 / 1.45, .600 springs, Bronze guides, 5 angle valve job, ported to 17cc instead of 14cc (stock) and come with Patriot cams of your flavor. go to www.freewebs.com/raceerx and review my Engine built by HCI Motorsports in Sacramento 1-916-643-2280, they sell and install patriot heads and they manufacturer their own heads. they helped Patriot in early stages.
