My floor jack is leaking hydraulic fluid, basically rendering it useless now. It was a nice one, about $120, so I'd rather not just toss it and buy a new one unless I have to. Does anyone know if these can be repaired? I imagine it's just some stupid little seal that needs replaced. Is there anywhere to take one to get fixed?

My jack from Costco also leaks, I'm wondering if it's an O-ring or valve gasket of some sort.

Yeah you can rebuild them. I'm sure if you went to your fav. tool store you could find a kit or even online. My dad just used seals he had laying around to fix his.

Next time buy tools with a warranty....I have a cheap Kragen 2.5 ton jack and if it brakes I can still fork out the $29.95 AND it has a lifetime warranty...

All my hand tools are Craftsman...Simple, go to Sears or OSH on a weekend and exchange if I brake them... [Wink]

Some of those jacks are repairable. Usually its a seal that's leaking and not holding the pressure. I'd think your best bet would be to ask a place locally that sells hydraulic jacks.

I do love that CRAFTSMAN guarantee though, no hassles, no worries.

most jacks dont have a lifetime warranty. my craftsman only had a year then i bought a $100 jack from kragan with a 3 year warranty
