My 01 mustang gt is making a weird noise that is driving my crazy
It makes it at idle and while driving,,its like a "tick,tick" sound,,when I open the hood I cant hear it, but I can hear it when Im on the side of the car or inside the car,,its like its coming from under the shifter,,well thats where I hear it when Im inside the car,,my "check engine" light is not on,,so I dont know if its an engine problem,,any ideas

my 99 has done it since it was brand new don't know what it is took it in when it was new and was told everything was normal 50 thousand later and still does it

I found the problem,,since where I live there are several bumps on the street I damaged my right CAT,,the shield was smashed and I found a crack on the cat itself,,this is what was causing the anoying sound..
