The whole battery side of the engine compartment is full of white stains/powder type chemical, even the bolts on the fender has white powder on it, look @ the radiator clips & the drain plugs, you can see white powder on them...
WHat is causing this? Bad grounding?

Dude, your answer is right in your picture. Those connections to your battery terminal are HORRIBLE. Take a little more than 10 seconds slapping the leads into the terminal, and you won't get all of that corrosion, and you won't be losing your charge because of the corrosion.

Yeah, i peeled off the negative wire and seen white corosions on it also, should i just get new terminals?
on edit - can it be bad grounding also?

I'm sorry wiring maintenance is my job, so I hate to see it done improperly. its my pet peeve... lol
put some nice terminals on all those wires, make sure that they are actually making a good connection, replace that nasty ass battery post with a nicer one (imo)

Yeah man that is pretty Ghetto. take some real coco cola and poor it on all that acid and then wash it off with a hose it will desolve the battery acid.

go to kragen and buy an assortment of wire crimps with bolt eyelets for the guage wire you are using, crimp/solder your leads to the eyelets and bolt those to the terminal - your starter solinoid, not the battery (if you dont know what that is, trace the power lead off your battery, what that leads to is where you should attach your accessories).

HOLY GHETTO WIRING BATMAN
yeah those terminals are shot and from the looks of it your cables dont seem to be to great either, change those first off and beleive it or not those lil cloth washers for a whole .99 at any parts store help out alot with the whole corrosion issue.another word of advice..........Why dont you wire that fan a litle better maybe on a relay that is also fused because that can get really ugly in the event that fan shorts out the way you have it wired now....

A little bit of soapy water and an old toothbrush work well to get the corrosin of the parts it got onto.
And i must agree about the ghetto wiring....but that has never been my strong suit either

Spread some dielectric (sp?) on all of the connections. It's sold everywhere and it inhibits corrosion. And i've seen worse wiring,...on my Jeep.
