ALWAYS disconnect your battery when working on your car...

It sounds like you touched the positive side of your battery with your wrench...The chassis if grounded and if you bolt your radiator to your chassis you will have no problems with grounds..

Check and make sure you didn't weld a hole in your radiator where it got zapped...
