NOTE:I AM NOT REFERRING TO THE "RED" E-BRAKE SENSOR LIGHT

I had a blowout on I-5 yesterday afternoon. I got the spare pulled out, jacked the car up, but one of the lug nuts would not come off that rear passenger side rim. The bolt seemed to be stripped so the lug nut would just turn and turn. So then, I had to walk off the freeway to the nearest gas station and call for a tow. Well, the whole time the Cobra was getting loaded onto the flatbed and loaded off, the e-brake was left on. When I left the tireshop, my "amber" ABS light stayed on the whole time and is still on now and I cannot figure out as to why?

When I got home, I checked that side to see if anything happened to the brake lines but clearly can't tell (no leaks, nada). I also checked the brake fluid reservoir and it was still full basically but added a tad bit. Then I disconnected the negative side of the battery for about an hour and some odd minutes and when I hooked it all up again, the damn sensor still stays on.

Any other suggestions before i have to dish out some BIG bucks @ the dealer?

Could the e-brake cable somehow have jostled the ABS sensor on the rear tire at it's mounting location.?

How far was the car moved w/ the e-brake on?

Is there any visual sign of maybe the blowout causing damage to the ABS sensor?

Is the sensor even there still?

yeah dude, I would check the wiring and connector for that wheel.

also, the chiltons manual has a little troubleshooting guide for the abs light.

Ground to the flatbed, flatbed to ground....so maybe 30 ft. total, if that at all.

Didn't really get all that good a look once i got home since it was getting dark, but i think so. Everything seems to be there still, nothing ripped, dangling, or damaged.

Yep, did that too, even the Haynes, no help there. Im off this weekend so at least i'll have a good chance at thouroughly inspecting everything and maybe getting a buddy of mine to get a second opinion.

Yep, dont get me wrong the brakes still work fine and all, the car is still driveable, but from what i hear with that ABS light on is that if i suddenly have to lock up my brakes in case of an accident or something i wouldn't be able to control the car as easy as i would if it were operating normally. Plus, the damn light is annoying.

Time to learn some threshold braking! Abs is mostly for wet conditions anyway.
