Anyone have any experience with this? bolt in or welding required, saving weight? 1/4mph tenth gain?

or where can i get Tub K member kit that have all parts needed to install?

One of the Mustang mags did a write up about installing a tubular k-member not too long ago. Didn't look too difficult as long as you RTFM. There's a lot of measurements you have to take when re-installing the k-member.

I would have gotten something other than the QA-1 kit but thats just my opinion. Just make sure to square the new k-member into the car with plumb bobs.

Lighter isn't always better...Just remember that aslong as you're going straight you shouldn't have a problem with the QA1...

Well if it's just for straight line than the QA-1 should work but I just don't think it has near the quality of a Griggs or Maximum Motorsports k-member.

From what I've reaf on the internet, QA-1 seems to be the most ok of the drag race K members.

I would think twice about putting on a light weightdrag race tubular k-member if you spend a lot of time on the street because some of these light weight units have faild uder light duty use. There is no way in hell I will put one on my heavy convert, espesilly some POS drag unit.

The griggs tubular that I have is very nice. I would recommend either griggs or maximum motorsports as others have said.

i installed a groundpounder k member and it wasnt as complicated as it seemed. i also installed a coil over kit and new motor mounts. its so much easier if u get new motormounts so u dont have to mess with the old rubber ones. i would go with the griggs gr40 k-member if u have the money, its the best one on the market, weight and strength. otherwise i would go with the maximum motorsports k-member, it drops right in and is very strong. the groundpounder is nice, but nowhere as nice as those two. if u have any questions about installing it , just pm me, i can help u out.

its the strongest on the market right now, but also the most expensive. they have two different models...the gr40 and the gr350. if its for the track i would go for the 350, its lighter but is braced in the right places. it also has delrin bushings for a solid feel. its totally worth it

I would stay away from those very weak light weight drag race units on any street car. Some of the above mentiond kmembers have actually faild and caused major front end damage.

I understand that the stresses upon the K-member are much greater during autocrossing/road-racing, but I won't be doing much of that since I have setup my car for the 1/4.

I have seen the Qa-1 k's up close they seem to be pretty-good quality. Not everyone can afford a Griggs or MM K-member.

Do you have any links on the K-member failures?

Ever hear of the old saying: You get what you pay for? A few hundred bucks is nothing compared to a destroyed car that the insurance company wont touch because you installed a cheap K-member.
