Okay, I have an 86 Mustang GT. I bought a set of FlowTech long tube headers & matching X pipe. I took the starter out and put the passenger side header in there then tried to get the starter in, SURPRISE! Wouldn't fit. So I took the header out, put the starter in and tried to get the header in...Wouldn't fit. Took the starter out, laid the header in loose and tried to wedge the starter in, wouldn't fit. So I figured, well I should get a new starter anyway and got myself a mini-starter. Did the same stuff and still won't fit!

How the hell do you guys with long tubes get the header & the starter in there? The only way I can see is by lifting the motor out and then trying it that way but I'm not sure if that would even work. I really don't wanna lift the motor out.

I really need help, I'm completely lost!

if its anything like when I put my headers in, you have to unbolt the motor mount and carefully jack up the motor

Well I don't think I'm gonna feel too bad about jacking up the motor or something now...My friend IMed me a few minutes ago and asked me if I wanted some solid motor mounts. So I'm gonna install those..Hopefully I can get the headers & starter in too!

Thanks for the reply 94GT [Smile]

from what I understand, solid motor mounts are going to make the whole car wiggle.

[Razz] I try and help when I can
