I put the stock H-pipe back on my 92' for smog and it totally choked it! I don't know how much HP you will loose but it is definitely a noticalbe amount.

I thought stock H-pipes had four cats. Anyway...most manufacturers quote a 10 hp gain by using their off-road pipe. I can imagine if you switch back to the stock catted H, you can subtract approximately 10 hp.

The 96-98 GTs had 6 cats. That H pipe is worth about $2000 by the way, so don't lose or abuse it.

Crap...I should've looked at his name. I figured he was talking about an H-pipe for fox bodies. 6 cats, though...that's amazing. I'm going to bed. [patriot]

sux huh, your car's hella quiet now too?

I liked my stock h-pipe for about 5 minutes. It was kinda "neat" driving a quiet mustang. I got on it, and it just didnt' compare. I got home from the smog shop, ripped that shit off, and put my offroad right back on, and went to go rip on it smore! Big seat of the pants difference. 10+ hp, depending on how many hp you already have.

I would say ...

I gained .3 in the quarter by switching my stock-H out for an off road H on my 94... [Big Grin]
