That is not an "R" engine, it's just your standard '99-'01 4.6 dohc. The "R" is a 5.4 dohc.

And it'll be cheaper to sell the v6 and buy a '99. after labor and a new rearend.

The smart choice would be to sell your V6 mustang and start shopping for a 99 Cobra.

1) i already have an 8.8" rearend
2) i've modded my six banger to the max...put too much money into it to let it go..basically a SALEEN Clone.. and i love it!

i'm just trying to get an idea how much it would cost..realistically, from someone who has done this swap.. and how much would i save if i did the labor myself???**since its a weekend car**

Hmmm... a 2000 4.6 DOHC, is it the Teksid or WAP block, find out before you buy that.

i'm either looking to swap a Mach 1 motor...or an 03 Cobra motor...

it all depends on the funding..trying to get some good deals out there.. just being patient! =)

Either a Mach 1 or 03 Cobra engine would be perfect... you might also look into getting a Aviator 4.6 DOHC, which comes with a trick intake manifold that is close to the FR5000.
