im gonna be getting 373 gears in my 97GT. hopefully next week. will i feel a good difference?? and will i be with or beating LT1's? keepin up with LS1's??

go with 4.10's. you'll get the lt1 but the ls1 you will need at least some longtubes and slicks + powershifting.. [burnout]

You will feel a good difference for sure but you won't be beating up on ANYONE if that 97GT is stock. You are gonna need as many bolt ons as you can get PLUS the gears and some good driving if you wanna keep up with those boys. 97GT's are slow man... Straight fact.

yes i admit stock 97Gts are slow...but not as slow as stock 5.0's. i raced a 5.0 w/ jus flows and i blew him away (i had flows too). driver i guess. not sayin im any good. but i think im an alright driver. 5.0's are hella quick if you fix em up. 97GTs are the same...slow until you fix em up. i got some shit on my 97GT and i almost beat LT1's. i only lose by maybe half a fender. id go with 4.10's but id save a little more gas with 373's. thanks guys.

stock 5.0's are slow? Must have been an automatic convertable?

my coupe is *stock* sans gears and short belt, I would be shocked if a stock 97gt beat it.

I'm not stock, I have a few of the bolt ons, but I'll run ya for some fun, it would be interesting to see how I would do against a 2v with 373's

on mine, 55pmh is about 2k on the rpms.
