i have seen some cars with a single supercharger,
some cars with a single turbocharger,
a few cars with twin turbochargers,

why have i never seen twin superchargers??

this seems like a great idea, if one is good two is better

probably cause it would be too hard to control both Belts and have them work at the same speed and everything, since you can always have the problem of belt slipage and junk like that. The belts factor in too many possibilites for error where Turbos just run on the Exhuast and the Exhuast should be the same on both sides.

I've seen in the past issue's of MMFF some of the drag race guys running two superchargers, R trim Vortech's to be more specific. Reason why nowadays you don't see that anymore....my guess is that because todays superchargers are damn efficient. With the right pulley combo 20+ psi is easy to get.

no traction, unloads too much power all at once for damn near anything to hook. Not practical either.

Just swap pulleys to get the psi you want.

Aston Martin built the Vantage in 1992. Twin Eaton 5.3 litre V8... -

In 1963 Studebaker had a prototype engine, the R5 for the Avanti, which was a 289ci twin McCullough (Now Paxton) superchargers.

And before you ask, the Lancia Delta S4 utilized what's called "twincharging". It used a roots style supercharger up to 4k rpm, then a bypass valve opened, and the turbo chargers boost began to feed the engine. This was all on a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine.

That's what happens when your mom tells you to go outside and play, but you'd rather read Motor Trend and Car & Driver magazines as a kid. [Big Grin]

is there any place where i can buy twin superchargers for my car?

Mike Sitar started out with a Twin supercharged Tbird buildup.:
here
Finding a kit for twin Superchargers on an Infiniti G35 (Or any car)....good luck. The point was it is not cost effective, when a single will make all the power needed for most situations. Add the additional bracketry, ducting, and just enough room under most hoods, and I can't imagine any manufacturer seriously considering it, much less building it AND certifiying it for emmisions, and hoping to have enough buyers. Definitly a "Custom" job...

At the alteredspeed grand opening there was a twin supercharged pantera there. It had two roots type blowers mounted in a v shape custom intake, then had side draft webers on it. It was bad ass. John over from Altered worked on it he would know more.

[patriot] Tommy Ivo was the first guy to build a twin supercharged drag motor back in the 60's. It's just not a very effecient design. When you consider it takes 20-30hp to turn a roots style supercharger, why would you waste 60hp to get the same ammount of boost into an engine as a single supercharger? It really does't make sense.

Yup.
That's why when Cosby wanted a car that could go 200mph, O'l Shel threw two paxtons on a 427 Cobra. The rest is history...

If big power from multiple power adders is what you want, then get multiple turbo's and stage them. Have one feed into another. How about 200psi boost? Tractor pull guys run setups like that. [Eek!]
