The IRS is a straight bolt in. Your biggest problem is going to be the exhaust. If you want the exhaust tips to come out the rear, you'll need to get something made from scratch. Or you could just go with dumps. But a V6 with turndowns might sound like ass.

look forward to wheelshop also unfortunately. if you want it to handle somewhat decent then go for it. if you plan to do a lot of straight line racing then stick with a live axle.

As far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no advantage to having the Cobra IRS...

It's heavier, you get massive wheel hop, and as far as handling you can build a solid axle just as good if not better...

Yes, it will go in with no major problems. Is it worth it? That's debatable. If you are getting the IRS for free, sure, go ahead and do it. As Rob set, a good stick axle setup will be better than a stock IRS. I don't know how much you'll be affected by wheel hop with the V6.

I have a 2001 IRS equipped Cobra and a tourque arm equipped stick axel GT and I like the IRS better.
