i hooked up a modis to my car for check engine light and besides my maf being bad and left o2 it said neutral drive switch is that a.k.a. clutch neutral safety switch and what does it do? and is there two safety switches on the clutch pedal pivot cause i went to buy one and they gave me a neutral safety switch and it was the wrong part

It might have been a "goose" test....
What I mean is, did you push in the clutch pedal at all during the "modis" test?...It's probably part of the test procedure to step on the clutch pedal once, just like you have to turn the wheel lock-to-lock to test the power steering pressure switch...
If you asked for a neutral safty switch at the local parts store they might have pulled one up for an automatic..Fot a 5 speed Mustang there is only one neutral safty switch...
