Well im going to attempt to install a new clutch this next weekend in the new ride. Its going to be either a king cobra or mcloud. Any advice on doing this? never have done it. Any shortcuts, any help would be appreciated. thanks guys

Rent a pilot bearing puller and install a new pilot bearing...Buy a new rear main seal and some Red-Line Dex-III for your T5... [patriot]

I will definitely put new fluid in the tranny, and replace the seal and pilot.

you said you were goin to use the king cobra clutch or the mcloud i say get the mcloud me and a few other firends of mine have had the king cobra clutch and it sux big time some slip some just break to piece like mine did there just garbage get the mcloud or a spec stage 2 that is a good cluth well i like it anyways just my .02 cents

It's also a good idea to replace your rear main seal with a tighter 4.6L seal and also a fel pro save a seal at this time. Make sure the pressure plate is torqued down in the proper order and that all machined surfaces are cleaned with carb or brake cleaner. A good adjustable clutch cable and quadrant will also let you adjust things to your liking

hmmm, i think i might just have someone local do it. Im not going to be having powertools etc. There is a place in Manteca that will do it for 200. I really dont want to f... anything up.

[Confused] A 4.6 rear main seal on a 5.0?...

Yep, the 4.6L seal has a tighter fit than the standard 5.0L seal. Been using them with success for years now.

Where is it tighter?...The crank or the block, or both??...

It's a little tighter in both areas. Just something I picked up as a trick of the trade. I've never seen any unusual wear associated with running this seal. I've used them in cars which have had them in for the full life of the motor. When I do a clutch I use this seal with a save a seal and I have never had one leak on me. Care when installing like anything else is key.
