So im driving the car around today and noticed a sound coming from the clutch area of my car. I do not hear it when im stopped but as soon as i begin to accelerate, the shifter starts to vibrate some....and i hear this whistling sound coming from the clutch area and it gets louder as i accelerate and when i shift......it sounds like air going through a hole.....when i decelerate..it whistles alittle quieter but its still there....someone said throwout bearing needs to be replaced....someone else said tranny....what the heck is it? Im worried about it

Thanks

if you have a short shifter, you're going to feel more vibration, and hear MUCH more of the drivetrain noise due to the rubber bushings not being in place like the stock shifter.

If it's a simple whining noise on acceleration, and decel....it's PROBABLY the shifter....totally normal.

Of course without hearing the car in person it's hard to judge for sure what it is...but just know the sound difference is VERY noticable with some short shifters.
