When i got the car it had a 160 thermo in it. i didn't like that because it made the car run rich. i took it out and put a 180 in it. Tonight i was sitting at a stop light and the temp hand got to the "A" in Normal [Eek!] I don't like that.
Is there a stock replacement fan that blows more CFM than the stock one? Anyone had this problem? i am starting to wonder if this engine has some underdrive pulleys on it.

I never had a problem and mine had underdrive pulleys.

Could be a bad thermostat. It happens.

where is the temp sensor for the fan switch located on the engine?

mine did that same damned thing, bought it with a 160degree thermo, and u/d's and it would hit the "l" in normal... I replaced it with an 192-195 and a few weeks later my water pump failed.

it 100+ degrees sitting in traffic a/c blazing my temp creeps just up to the "L" then quickly drops as the thermostat opens up. I have underdrive pullies they may have some effect on the water pump. I have a 180 thermostat

I believe its a brand new water pump.
I think i might get the entire system flushed i don't like the color of the coolants its a redish kind looks almost like rust.

u probally have dexcool radiator fluid in ur car.
if u flush make shure u get everything out og the system cause i heard if u mix dexcool and normal radiator fluid it will turn to gel

[Eek!] when i put the thermo in i used regular coolant, maybe thats why its getting hot.

regular coolant is what you should be running. you don't have dexcool in your 95.

Dex cool- orange
regular- green

Uhhh...the temp gauge on my car routinely hits the "A" in NORMAL. I have underdrive pulleys and the stock thermostat (195). Should I be concerned?
