k so i got a new 87 gt. i looked at the coolant saw it was a little low. so filled it. then i put just a litle to much in over fill {by mistake} but now the light is always on. car runs the same temp it always has.i took the battery cable off but no luck.

un plug the sensor for the overflow tank. they are known to go bad.

Yeah, those things suck....I'd suggest fixing it rather than unplugging it though...

Just clean the tips of the sensor (inside the reservoir) with a wire brush - if it is corroded, it will turn on the light.
