Right now I have a cobra upper and gt 40 lower intake manifold the problem is my lower intake has a stripped thread ive heli coiled it once and it just stripped out again now the hole is too big to re tap. what should I do. seckond I just cracked my upper manifold while tightning it down, its not bad its on the edge so I might be able to get it welded but im not sure. now im wondering if I should fix the upper and lower I have right now or should I buy a better upper and lower intake also what would be a better one to get. Thanks for reading this long post.

Call your local machine shops and ask how much it would cost to weld up some aluminum and fix your upper and lower...

If it's more than $200, I'd definately get a new intake...

You can buy a thread tapping tool to rethread the stripped thread. You can get it at AutoZone. Just ask for their tapping tool and you can do it yourself like easy. [dance]

i wouldnt worry about the stripped thread, you should be alright without it. for the upper, just jb weld it or put some sealant on it.

If this is for your S351, Edelbrock makes a 351 lower intake to mate with a Performer upper. Trick Flow also has a 351 lower that mates with an "R" upper. Either one will work fine. At the time Saleen came out with the S351, Ford was the only one that offered a fuel injected 351 intake (for the 351 powered 1st generation Lightning trucks). If you opt for either one of the intakes, hood clearance may be a problem if your car has the stock or Saleen hood on it as both the Trick Flow and Edelbrock sit higher than the Cobra intake. I have the Trick Flow intake on my '95 S351-R and I had to notch the rear of my hood for clearance and my car has the optional carbon fiber Saleen hood on it.
