Posted by AL STOCK (Member # 1852) on
:
You can drop it from 2.4 to a 1.8 and run a 13.5-13.6 guranteed

Ya bro but dont botter getting those 17" drag radials thou they cost more.
just get some 15" and mount them on some ten holes. Hell I got a dozen 10 ten holes you can have for like dirt cheap. LOL

Oh ya they help bigtime. I remember my old '89 when I bought an extra set of 10 holes and threw some M&H's on them. My car hooked ten times better. I just changed my rear street tires over to the drag tires at the track. Night and day difference.

Fine then get some v6 rims 95 rims.
Trust me its cheaper and probably a little faster to go with 15's just beacuse of more sidewall.
You got my number call me if you have a question.
AL Stock I heard the guy he bought the gt40 heads from was a straight G ![[worship]](graemlins/worship.gif)

i got some nittos dr's on 16" 5 lug waffle rims for sale. lots of tread, pm me if interested. the general rule is, every .1 you knock off your 60' thats .15-.2 off your 1/4 mile time. you should get 2.0 at the very least. i was pulling 1.9 before my trac lok started going out. you should get a 13.5 no prob. i pulled 13.5@102 in my 3600 lb 94

Get the 17's. Price differance between the 2 tires is 20 bucks a piece from Summit. For 40 bucks I'd much rather have matching wheels on my ride. Nothing looks worse than a nice Mustang with missmatched wheels.

If no one is going to mention ET streets I will. Get some Eld's and ET streets and rip a 1.6. If you're going to change tires at the track may as well go balls out and not drag radials.

I have 245/40-18 BFG G-Force Drag Radials and was able to do pull a 1.9 60' and 13.63 1/4 @101 with my 94 convertible w/aode checking in at about 3800lbs including me. The DRs didn't loose traction at all. And that was at 35psi!!!

There is no way a low 14 high 13 sec Mustang is going to pull a 1.6 60 foot. In addition, the BFG or Mickey Thompson Drag Radial will hook just as good as the E.T. street, especially on a 13 sec car. I do agree that welds would look awsome on his car though!

This is asuming he has a t-5 and dumping the clutch from 5 grand as I would with ET streets. No only would the Weld's look cool but save some decent rotational weight

Yup I agree. He could easily pick up a couple 10ths just with less weight. That's why every mustang I've ever had has always had Welds on it. Little scary in the turns though

IMO dont get some diff wheels, cuz what if someone pulls next to you on the street and starts acting an ass what are you gonna do say hold on while i go home and swich tires...haha....but if your just a track guy then i think its a great idea for myself im a street guy, so i wouldnt do it i would just get DR's for the tires on your car right now IMO remember
