I'd like to make my engine compartment look nice. What do you guys use to clean up in there? Will brake clean take the enamel paint off my block? Don't want that, I know windex works good for chrome.

I get crazy with "Gunk" engine degreaser...Make sure the engine is cold and you rinse it right after you're done spraying it...

Simple Green has discolored my aluminum before...Just my experience...

a water based dressing is great after you have cleaned it. It won't damage rubber hoses. Most detail shops have it.

u can use a pressure washer to get that caked on shit off... i used one on the underside of my car too.. worked great...
