Will these work on an 87 5.0? I'm wondering because I don't know if the holes for the breather caps/oil fill neck will cause problems. I'm thinking maybe they are for earlier 302's? Anybody know?

Those VC's will fit...As long as you dont mind having breathers and possibly modifying the internal oil baffle...Or you can buy oil caps for both sides, you just have to find them for an older Stang...

Keep in mind it's not smog legal to have breathers on a 88 T-bird.... [patriot]

yeah, well it isn't smog-legal to have off-road pipes on a stang [Razz]

thanks for the info. so it will still work with breather caps? it doesn't have to have the rubber tube going to the TB? and the internal oil baffle, is that on the head, oil pan or valve cover? [Confused] what would make it possibly necessary to modify it?

OK, do you have the stock Ford SEFI intake?....To use breathers you are goin to have to find some very low profile breathers or an phenlic intake spacer to clear the intake....

If you run breathers you can not run the rubber tube of the oil neck to your TB.....

The oil baffles are on the valve cover...You might need to modify them to clear your rocker arms....

Yeah, I have the stock manifold. I was thinking the driver side cover would have a problem with a breather.

Is there some other option other than breathers?

well, I got the covers today. It looks like clearing the upper intake isn't really the problem; it's the throttle cable/TV cable bracket on the back side of the throttle body. The holes for the breathers will go towards the front of engine on the drivers side, but towards the back of the engine on the passenger side. Is there any way to just cover the hole with a low profile cap, rather than a breather?

Go to your local parts store and try a couple of older style oil caps out...You could either start looking for low-profile oil caps or older mustang caps to get the correct one faster...

If I remeber right, Stant make a push in rubber oil cap, but that might only fit GM cars....

I hope I could help.... [patriot]
