My question is, what is the torque box? Where is it? If my car clunks when turning, how do I know for sure that it's the torque box? It never made any sounds when turning, until a few months ago when i had it aligned. Now it makes a clunking noise when I turn, but only when I turn left. Could this be a problem with the torque box? If so, can it be fixed, or what should I do about it?

the Torque boxes are in the Back of the car were the control arms attach to the frame/body, if the noise is comeing from the front it's something different

check your sway bar connecting links at the end of the sway bar on both sides.

if its coming from the back, it sounds like a broken rear sway bar or possible torque boxes.

Just get down and take a look at where the rear lower control arm connects to the unibody (not where is connects to the axle housing). If the torque box is torn it should be obvious.

I tore mine on the passenger side. Whenever I would start from a stop or step on the gas from a cruising speed it would clunk. Taking a look under the car it was obvious where it was torn.
