Im thinking about getting some nitto 245-50-16 DR, I was wondering how good of a tire is it.Do i need to remove my quad shock in the rear to fit them? They will be going on a 91 coupe btw

Excellent DR because it lasts longer than some other DR tires. No need to remove the quad shock; the tires will fit no problem.

Nitto's are good, but BFG's seem to hook better. You could always try out the Mickey Thompson DR's

I have Nitto 555 (front) Nitto Drag Radial (rear) they work out fine.

How cheap can i find the nitto's and the m/t DR?

just dont expect the tire to be stickier than street tires w/o heating them up (daily driving). My 245/50/16 street tires with 38psi hooks better on the street than my 245/50/16 drag radials (nitto) do when their cold and at 23 psi. mine lasted about 10,000 mi.

BFG's don't last as long. You will see better times at the track when properly heated. I hear the new Mickey T's are bad ass though

91PONY runs 245/50/16 Nitto DR's on her GT. They hook awesome in the summer time when the roads are warm & tire pressure is around 20.
This time of year....they need to be heated up in order to hook.
In the rain they are just plain dangerous.
She's had her's for about a year & they are worn to the wear bars...maybe 3K miles at most. Burnouts are what eat these tires up & she loves burnouts. LOL BTW, they still stick good once bald. We'll probably get another year out of them.
I run Nitto 275/40/17's DR's on my Cobra & they hook REAL good for the power I push (even this time of year). They look new with ~1000 miles on them.
Bunchmyfunky got his Nitto DR's to last like 30K miles.
