i was just wondering what a chip does and if adds a good amount of HP?
And whats the diff between a hypertech or a diablo?
sac stang said the charge around 400 for the hyper and i think like 230 for the diablo?

Short answer:
They do two major things:
1) Optimizes timing (too much or too little hurts HP)
2) Optimizes the air to fuel ratio (too much or too little hurts HP)
Stay away from "off the shelf" chips. You want a chip that is tuned for your car based on dyno numbers. You also have little to gain from a chip if your motor is stock or near stock.
